Andreas Damianou, MSc
Counselling Psychologist
I’m Andreas, a Cyprus-registered and EuroPsy-accredited Counselling Psychologist. My desire to understand the human condition and help unlock our innate capacity to heal, grow, and flourish led me to start my psychology studies in the UK in 2005.
Over two decades later, that same passion continues to inspire and guide my continuous professional development and therapeutic practice.
In the therapy room, I support individuals, couples, teenagers, and parents to better understand themselves, work through the challenges they are facing, and build healthier, more fulfilling ways of relating to themselves, others and life.
I work with concerns including anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, loneliness, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, trauma and periods of crisis, while also supporting personal growth and development.

Therapeutic Approach
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship; a relationship based on trust, understanding and genuine human interaction.
Each person comes to the therapy room with their own story, experiences and circumstances, so each collaboration is unique and takes shape according to the predicament and needs of each person. I see therapy as a journey of exploration: getting to know and understand ourselves more deeply, noticing the patterns that keep us stuck, understanding what we need, and discovering what meaningful change might look like for us.
My main therapeutic framework is Schema Therapy, which I find particularly useful for understanding and overcoming longstanding unhelpful patterns that prevent us from living our best lives.
I work integratively, also drawing from Person-Centred, CBT, Systemic and Attachment approaches depending on the person and their goals.
Experience
I have worked with adults, couples, children and families in both community and therapeutic settings, supporting people around issues including anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, loneliness, relationships, grief and life transitions.
